This is a very simple and helpful tutorial video from VideoJug which shows some techniques on how to blend eye shadows using a small flat brush and a small tapered brush.
Hi. Today, I'm going to show you how to blend eye shadows. Now, the best techniques for this is to have a small flat brush and then a small tapered fluffy brush because this is where you are going to use the blending technique with the tip of this brush and you are going to use the flat brush as your applicator.
Now, I've already applied an eye primer to the eye. This works very well because it helps the eye shadow stick to the actual eyelid. Just with your applicator flat brush, choose a colour that you wish to apply, just press it into the eye shadow and then tap off the excess.
Then just holding up the eyelid area, just to stretch it gently, with your applicator brush, gently press in the eye shadow all across the lid. Press it all into the eyelid area, where ever you want the eye shadow. I'm just going to apply it to this eye area here, press it all in and this is a really nice shimmery colour but you can use darker colours if you wanted to as well.
Just bring it out, either you can bring it out up to the eye area where it finishes or you can draw it out a bit further out as well. Once you've applied the eye shadow, then with the blending brush, you're just going to blend into the skin area here, just pull it out and just soften the edges in circular motions. And even if you had another eye shadow colour sitting at the top here, you would use the same technique.
Basically, this blending brush helps blend two colours together or the eye shadow into the skin. If you are to draw the eye shadow further out, you just blend it out over here. And that's how to blend eye shadow using the flat applicator brush and then the small fluffy tapered brush as well. .
