Hi, I'm Edward Hayes. I'm a hairstylist at Andrew Jose hair salon in London. This is how to blow dry curly hair straight.

There are many different ways of doing so. First, what we're going to do is to select some products. On Madini's hair today, I'm going to use the JLife Decontrol Mousse which is to defrizz the hair.

What you can do is actually use this on fine, thick, or medium textured hair. This is just to control the frizz levels in the hair. Just spread it evenly in your hands, run it through from the mid lengths to the ends.

You can break the hair into sections and just run it through like so. Try to be as even as possible with your distribution of it. I mean when you're using a mousse in the hair, you can generally mix it, put in another product.

That's what I do mostly, especially with hair of this texture, it needs to have a bit more something else to control it, you can actually use a serum or a smoothing cream. I'm going to use the smoothing cream myself, for reason being I prefer to seal it at the end with a serum more than with a smoothing cream because it gives a bit more shine, a bit more gloss to the hair. At the end, just make sure you comb it through.

When you're blow drying, try to pull on the hair for quite a bit on tension. This makes it a bit easier when you're blow drying. Just trying to manipulate the hair to be straight before you actually make straight.

Depending on how comfortable you are with a brush, make sure you got the right size brush for when you're doing this. On Madini, I would use a large round brush, you can use a paddle brush. The reason I use a round brush is because I can get closer to the root.

Just make sure you're keeping the root section of your hand moving, just moving the hair. So go from the roots, to the mid lengths, to the ends. Depending on if you want it to get a bit more rounder at the ends, you can just bend up on the ends, or just keep going down straight to make it a bit smoother.

The next section, just concentrate on that section. Don't pick up the other section, just concentrate on the one you've just taken up. Just finish with the cool air.

Just pop in a little bit of serum. When you're applying the serum apply almost like your hands are a straightener. Spread it evenly.

Go underneath. Go from the top. Try not to go too close to the roots because you'll make the roots a bit too greasy.

There you go, how to blow dry curly hair straight.
