How To Braid Cornrows

Hi, welcome to the Braiding Lounge Academy. My name is Lauralyn. We're going to be demonstrating some techniques on different hairstyles today on Afro hair and European hair.

Now I'm going to show you how to do a cornrow in natural hair. As you can see, I started off with a single plait. I would say that is the easiest way to begin it.

Begin it with a single plait. Plait it twice and then lay to your hand flat and begin to pick up the hair behind. Take every single strand and every single plait and don't pull the hair from behind the hair.

The hair should be gathered in from either side. Continue to braid all the way down to the back. Then at the end, you taper it off with a normal plait.
