I'm going to show you how to break in pointe shoes. Here are your pointe shoes. When you first get them, they're very tough and they're not so nice for your feet.

So, we need to mold them a little bit. So with your hands, you can press a mold around the toe box which is this area here. So, press and just warm up and just maneuver that bit because sometimes, that could be really hard and you'd get lots of blisters from there.

So, you could work that a little bit there. Also, with the back of the shoe, you can start to just mold it and bend it. Don't push too much on it because you don't want to break it.

But you can just start to bend the back so that it starts to give in this way. So, just around the toe box here, just molding with the thumbs and pushing and it should start to get a little bit looser here and then with the back here, so just bending in the back, putting the thumb long the back of the shoe and bending it in. In that way, that can start to break in the shoes a bit more comfortable when you put it on.

So now, we want to put the shoes on to break them in further. So, place in the shoe ever the foot. Let me show you how to put them on here.

I've got elastics and ribbons for these. Okay, so, in the kneel here is the best place to do it, taking and crossing the ribbons in the front here and they stay just above the ankle and then make sure that you tie just a small knot on the inside of your ankle. Then, hide the knot into these ribbons so they look like this.

So, now that we got the shoes done, the best way to really work into the shoes and break them is to go into either parallel first and then take it into a rise, so you take the shoe up into your highest demi-pointe, using the bar if you need to, pushing it up onto your full pointe. Work through back through the demi-pointe to really roll through the shoe and come all the way back down and again, up to a rise, pushing up onto pointe and coming through demi-pointe and down, taking it to a plie. So that way, you're really warming up the shoe and the feet at the same time and you're going to mold the shoes to your feet.

And that's how to break in pointe shoes. .
