In this video, I am going to be sharing my steps on how to build a small business. So, you are ready to take that leap of faith and start your own business, but where to start exactly? Well, assuming you have already evaluated your business idea for its profitability, here are my next 5 steps. Step 1 is to choose the right structure of your business.

So, you need to decide whether to be a sole trader, a limited company, a partnership, or an LOP or the equivalent in your country. For more information like this, you need to look at the relevant authority or in UK for more information. Step 2 is to choose the right name.

Now, this is the entry point into your business and it needs to be memorable, it needs to be a really strong name. So, also take the time to check that there isn't already a trademark out there for the business thing that you have in mind. Step 3 is to choose your brand.

Again, this needs to be memorable, you need to invest some time and money in a professional design, it is really important that you get the right look and feel to match your brand, so invest in some good logos, some good materials and really create a professional impression of your business. Step 4 is to promote, promote, and promote. Now, you are in business, you have got to get yourself out there and get those all-important first customers so that you can build momentum and get those all-important referrals, and step 5 is to plan and adjust.

Make sure that you are measuring your progress, that you are keeping track of your numbers, and don't be afraid to adapt your plan as you go along if things have not worked out as you initially planned. So, those are my 5 steps on how to build a business. .
