This informative video is if you want to start exercising and getting into shape without all the big bulky weights. There are some great alternatives to working out with weights.
In this video, I'm going to talk to you about how to build body muscle. Now on building body muscle, most people think you have to throw weights around, do heavy resistance training with dumbbells and barbells. You don't have to.
You can use suspension cables like this one here. These have become increasingly popular over the last 2 or 3 years. What they do, they use your body weight for resistance.
Let me give you some examples of exercises. This one strengthens and builds muscle in your legs, your bum, and arms all together. This one builds muscle in the back of your arms, the triceps.
This is for your chest and shoulders. In this first leg exercise, I'm going to show you how to make it easier or harder. First of all, foot position, if I have my feet far back, it's very easy.
So this is very good for a beginner. I walk my feet forward, it gets harder. If I come up really far forward, it's really tough.
This is similar to lifting weights, you get heavier and heavier weights with exercise, you get closer and closer in. Now for the next exercise, which was for the back of your arms, same applies. If your start out with your feet forward, it's quite easy.
This is just for beginners. As you get a bit stronger or if you're a little bit more advanced, have your feet further back. You can see it's a lot tougher to push out.
Things to watch out for, body position, my body is straight like a line. I don't want a curve, I don't want to sink in, a completely straight line, on my toes, down driving up. I'm using the hinge on my elbow just to push.
That is all I'm doing. The last exercise I show you which was the press up position one. Again footwork, if it's close, it's easy, so the back is a lot tougher.
Again, if you notice my body position is staying flat. Have a look. Those three exercises together work the entire body without a weight in sight. .
