How To Burn A Data CD Or DVD On A PC
VideoJug presents a short explanation of how to burn or backup data onto a CD or DVD. This film involves a PC and a freeware program called Deep Burner.
Step 1: You Will Need:
- A PC with a CD or DVD burning drive
- A Blank CD-R or CD-RW which holds 700 Megabytes
- A Blank DVD-R or DVD -RW which holds around 4.7 Gigabytes
Step 2: Get With The Program
If you don't have one already, you can download a good free burning program (freeware) at deepburner.com
Step 3: The Options
Choose burn data CD/DVD. If you wish to create a disc that you can add to later on choose "multi-session disc." If you wish to add to a CD or DVD which you started burning already choose "Append Session". If you wish to create a finalized disc choose "no multi-session." The most reliable way to back up data is a finalized, NON-multi-session disc.
Step 4: File It
Add the files and folders you wish to burn by using the folder with a plus icon on the top of the interface. Or, open up a new window and drag and drop files from your hard drive to your disc.
Step 5: Burn It
Once you've added all the files you want to burn, click the "Burn Disk" icon on the left hand side of the screen.
The progress bar will keep you posted on how much is burned. Once it's finished, you can rest easy knowing your important data is backed-up.
