How To Camp Out In Line At A Store
That hot new item just hit the stores and you just have to have it. But it may require you to camp out in line for several days at a time. VideoJug will show you how to wait it out in a parking lot with strangers and be more prepared then the guy waiting next to you.
Step 1: Know What's In Store
Do your research by checking product websites to see which store will be carrying the item you want when it's launched. Nothing worse then camping out in front of a store for three days when they don't have what you want.
Step 2: Who's The Boss?
Befriend the manager of the store that will be carrying the item and let them know you will be camping out. The manager can tell you what is being planned for the launch and how they intend on running it. They can also tell you where to line up, how many items they will be stocking, and the rules of the camp line. You should avoid any camp lines that do not have an organized system for a launch, injuries may occur when the doors open.
Step 3: Buddy System
Bringing a friend is crucial especially for bathroom breaks and food runs. You don't want to be tired when the doors open so sleep in shifts. And if you have to go alone, try to make friends with someone else on the line next to you so you can help each other out during the long haul.
Step 4: Don't Hold It For Anyone
Play by the rules and don't hold a place in line for anyone unless they have been there for the long haul and just need to run to the bathroom. A major dispute could occur. Be aware of other line crashers and report them to management. Never confront them yourself.
Step 5: Take Cover
More then likely you will be camping out on concrete in terrible conditions so always prepare for the worse. Bring a pup tent and blankets for warmth. in cold weather it is best to layer not wear heavier clothing. Use a folding chair to lift you off the hard surface. And have food and drink for energy.
Step 6: Go Bag Yourself
Bring a separate bag, like a back pack, then the stores to put your purchase into. This is strictly for security reasons since you will be tired after several days of camping out and may not be as alert as normal when walking to your car. Most of these items that people camp out for cost in excess of $600 and would be thieves look for the store bags to grab from unsuspecting campers. If you don't feel safe walking to your car, ask the manager that you befriended to accompany you.
