How To Canoe On Wii

In this video, you'll learn the basic techniques of navigating the waters of the canoeing challenge in the popular game Wii Sports Resort for Nintendo Wii console.

Hi, I'm Ross, the Nintendo specialist here at Game, and today I'm going to show you how to play Canoeing on Wii Sports Resort.
I've already inserted my Wii Sports Resort disc in my console and I've attached the Wii Motion Plus to the Wiimote and calibrated it by placing it flat on a surface, upside-down, like that. Once you get to the main screen, you'll see that Canoeing is situated on the bottom row.

Select that with the A button. You'll have the choice of a speed challenge which is up to four players or a versus which is up to four players. For this time I want my own so I'm going to select the speed challenge and play single player.

The idea of this is to paddle to the finish, making the rhythmic strokes to keep up a nice steady pace, using the Wiimote as if it was your oar. I'm just going to select one player, as you can see you can play up to four, select my Mii that I want to use, and away we go. I'll put it on beginner to start with.

You unlock the extra levels of difficulty as you go through the game. Again, as I said, your Wiimote is your oar. Hopefully what you'll see is me moving left and right and again you can see as I move the oar over it moves from side to side on the boat.

Tilting it will move it from either side of the boat. Holding it upright, there you go, just to go through left and right. Okay, here we go.

If you can get a nice rhythm going, you get a good bit of speed up. That's a bit of practice, let's see if we can get straight into the race. 100 meters, time limit 60 seconds.

Again, just using the oar in a nice rhythm and not going the wrong way like I am. I'm a little bit off course so just reset yourself with a few left hand paddles. There we go, I'm getting a bit of speed up now.

Mind those reeds. Come on! That's a good job, I'm not a real canoeist. Oh, come on, we're nearly there.

There we go, and that's how you play Canoeing on Wii Sports Resort.
