How to care for your sick kitten. Now, always when in doubt, first things first, consult your vet. Here are the signs to look out for: If your cat has discharge around the eyes, that could be a sign of infection.
Make sure you keep them nice and clean with literally a soft tissue and some warm water. If you look inside the cat's mouth, the gums should be nice and pink. If they're showing any signs of whiteness, that could be a sign of anemia so please consult your vet.
Swelling of the stomach, that could be a sign of worms. If you pick your cat just underneath the shoulders, the tummy should be nice and straight. If there is a slight bulge, that could be a sign of overfeeding, too much food in one interval, or it could be a sign of worms, which can be really discomforting for your cats so make sure you do get your cat some wormer.
That should be done regularly, at least every three months, or go and consult your vet and they should give you the right dose of wormer. If there is a sign in your cat's personality, he's not playing, that's not normal for a cat not to have energy and not to be playing. Your kitten should always be playful regardless of the time.
If he does seem to be a bit lethargic, make an appointment straight away with your vet. Sign of diarrhea, obviously a loose bowel, make sure you're giving your kitten small intervals of food at least three to four times a day. If he's had a loss of appetite, maybe give your cat some boiled rice and boiled chicken.
Really small portions at a time, that will help settle the stomach. No matter how small the problem, always go to see your vet, just in case. So, that's how you care for your sick kitten.
