Hi. My name is Carla Leenders and I'm a personal stylist at The Glass Slipper, and I'm going to show you how to style your wardrobe. Now, I'm going to show you how to care for a cashmere jumper.

If you've gone through the trouble of investing in cashmere, you're going to want to make sure you look after it. So that means no throwing in the washing machine with the rest of your garments, even if it goes in a really hot temperature, it has the chances of ruining it. You want to hand wash your cashmere.

You want to do it very gently with the specialist fabric cleaner. So don't use your normal detergent. There are specialist cleaners on the market that are made especially for cashmere and delicates like silk.

So just use one of those. Mash it gently in the water. Don't pull it or squeeze it.

Just rinse it with warm water. Don't put any fabric conditioner on it as this can make the fabric sticky. Very gently squeeze the water out of it.

Never ever put it into a spin dryer as this can make it lose its shape. Don't put it in a tumble dryer. For best results, dry it on a flat surface and leave it to dry.

Don't put it anywhere near a hot radiator or try to speed the process up. Once your garment is actually dry, iron it with a very cold iron. Anything hotter may end up burning the fabric and may end up losing its fluff as well.

For best results, use something like a cloth brush to get any little bits of lint off your garment. This may also help take off any fuzzy balls that have been collected. Cashmere is notorious for peeling as well.

For best results, use this in a circular motion. Once your garment is perfectly laundered, fold it correctly. Store in your cupboard with some moth balls to make sure those moths don't get stink in there.

And that's how you care for a cashmere jumper. .
