How To Care For Houseplants

Hello, I am Mike and welcome to Camden Garden Center. I am going to give you some help with some gardening advice. I have here a Kentia palm and I am going to feed it, and I am going to clean its leaves.

What I am going to use is controlled release plant food tablets. These are complete feed and provide all the nutrients that plant needs and they come in very convenient pellet form like these. If you read the instructions in the back of the container, it shows how many pellets are inserted according to the diameter of the plum plants and this plant is about 25 centimeter across and so I am going to put two or three pellets in.

There are three pellets and they are very simple to apply. You simply insert them into compost and push them about an inch and cover them up. So these three pellets are going into compost evenly distributed around the plant and what that means now, is every time this plant watered for next six months, fertilizer will release out in a controlled way from those pellets into the root nodes of plant and that will keep the plant well fed happy and healthy.

What I am going to do now, this plant has been in indoor, the leaves got covered in dust and so I am going to use some proprietary leaf wipes just to get rid of that dust. Of course in nature, plants will not normally covered in dust because the rain will wash the dust away. But in this instant, it has been grown in the house there is plenty of dust get in those leaves.

You simply wipe the leaves down. So a quite simple task and it leave your leaves nice, green and glossy again. Make sure your house plants are getting the right light they need.

You read the care instruction on the back of the label that the plant came with as how much light it needs and what kind of temperature it needs and if you follow these instructions you will be able to raise your home plant successfully. That is how to care about house plants.
