In this video, you learn how to catch a wave on a surf board. This three-time world champ walks you through this step by step.
In this video, I'm going to show you how to catch a wave. So, got our boards, go down to the beach, we're in the surf. We want to catch a wave.
So, what we need to do is we're going to walk out into about waist depth of water first off, okay? For the purposes of the video, pretend I'm in waist depth of water. So, we want the tail of the board pointing out to the sea. We want the nose of the board pointed in towards the beach.
So, the wave's coming this way towards me. Once the wave is about three meters away from the tail of our surf board, three to two meters, we need to jump onto our surf board. So, here it comes, here it comes.
Jump onto your board. Arch your back. Always look forward.
Cup your hands. Start paddling. You don't stop paddling until you feel that wave has got you.
So, keep paddling, keep paddling, alright. Wave's got me. Feel the power of the wave taking me towards the shore.
