How To Change A Tire. A simple video tutorial on the basic roadside assistance of changing a car tire. Become your own car mechanic by following VideoJug's simple guide.

Step 1: Set Up

Find a safe place to park your vehicle. Put the car in park and apply emergency brake.

Step 2: Loosen Lug Nuts

Remove hub cap, if necessary. Begin loosening lug nuts n a counter-clockwise pattern. Proced one at a time, in a star pattern, until all the nuts are loose but still attached.

Step 3: Use the jack

Check your Owner's Manual for best location to set the jack for your car. With jack basefirmly on the ground, begin jacking up car slowly until the tire is approximately one inch off the ground.

Step 4: Remove Lug Nuts and Tire

Now remove the lug nuts entirely. Remove the flat tire and place it to the side.

Step 5: New Tire

Take new tire, line up the holes with the exposed bolts. Make sure air nozzel is exposed, this way you are not putting the tire on backwards.

Step 6: Replace Lug Nuts

Replace lug nuts, tighten lightly, moving in a star pattern around the tire. Don't tighten two bolts in a row next to each other.

Step 7: Lower Jack

Begin lowering jack slowly until the wheels are on the ground and the jack can be removed easily.

Step 8: Tighten Lug Nuts

Return to lug nuts and fully tighten in star pattern. Don't over tighten bolts. Just make sure they are as snug as you can ,without straining.

Step 9: Put Flat Tire In Car

Place flat tire in trunk or backseat, and get repaired as soon as possible.
