How To Change E-Mail Schedules In Entourage. Changing your receive schedule can save you half an hour of wasted work a day. So follow these simple expert guidelines on making your e-mail account more efficient.

Step 1: Tools and Run

Once you've opened Entourage, move the cursor to the top of the screen. In the middle, you'll see the word "Tools". Click on that. When the menu drops down, click on "Run Schedule". From there, click on "Edit Schedule".

Step 2: Schedule Box

A new box will appear called "Schedules". Beneath is a default schedule, called "Send & Receive". Click on that, and then click on "Edit" above it.

Step 3: Ask and You Shall Receive Less

This box allows you to change how often you receive your e-mail, so re-label this box "Receive Mail".

Under "When", click on "Manually" and change it to "Repeating Schedule". A new box will pop up. Tim Burress, co-author of The Hamster Revolution, suggests changing the notification from the default "10 minutes" to 20 or even 30 minutes. Determine what's best for you and make your bold move.

Under "Action", change the bar to "Receive Mail". Make sure the bar to its right says the name of your e-mail account. Click OK.

Step 4: Tell the World

You've made a bold step. Tell the world you are no longer going to be handcuffed to your e-mail. Knowing your new schedule, they will be forced to write you more concise, clear and comprehensive e-mails. If something is urgent, they can call you or send you an instant message or text you or page you or they might be able to figure it out on their own.
