How To Change Spark Plugs

In this video, I'll be showing you how to change spark plugs. Now, we have to open the bonnet. If you cast your eyes over the engine, you usually find some form of HD lead like saturated rubber being forced in the car, you remove them by just literally pulling them off.

This is your spark plug. On each different car, different engines, this will locate in different places. This is usually where the head is, which is this thing here, but of course, we have that also located differently.

You really just have an extension bar and a spark plug socket. It's only a couple of different sizes; this is a slightly bigger size. Let's fit straight over and you just undo anti-clockwise.

And just go all the way until this is removed. There we are. That's your spark plug.

Now, if you're fitting the new ones, you will get a new plug, I mean it might certainly have numbers on, it's an identical number that means it's exactly the same plug. That will be slightly different sometimes, they do change spark plugs, in which case, you get the special together and make sure that this edge here and the top, where the actual spark plug ends, it's a sign of death. Otherwise, you would end up putting something too long, it will come out and break the piston and your engine will be knocked.

Providing it's the same, you take a new one. I suggest taking the ranchit out of the way to be sure that you get the feel of what process is going on, just to stop anything across spreading, you place it in, just start doing that clockwise, you'll feel it go in. Then take your ranch in and just slightly tighten it but don't go too tight because you don't want it to break it in there.

Remove your spark plug tool, take a HD lead and just push it into the clicks. And that's how you change your spark plug.
