How To Change The LCD On A Sony Ericsson W300i

Step 1: Changing LCD screens: Sony Ericsson w300i

Alright, we're gong to change the LCD on this w300. The NE LCD has got white, but as you can see its one complete unit and we will be changing the whole thing. First off all we need to get rid of the face so, do that just drag it with your nail, get it under the face shield, run your fingers along and it will just snap away, like so. Under the face shield you will see there are four screws. With your trusty t6 screwdriver, we're going to remove the four screws.

Step 2: Remove LCD Screen:

Now let's put them somewhere safe. Okay now we've got the four screws out. You need to flip the phone open, and then gently in between the groove, just there, on your finger nail, gently pull away as you can see. Just pop it off wiggle it a little bit and off it comes. As you see here you have your LCD, pop it forward, after an angle you'll see just underneath, there is a little ribbon, just there,so just get your finger nail in there, and pop it off.

Step 3: Placing the LCD Screen:

Well, your old LCD is now out, get your new LCD from any decent parts supplier, including us. I always take the feisty parts off first, because once you put it in there, your going to have fun trying to get it back out. So we'll just get those off, and wonderful. Okay the easiest way to put the screen back on, as it can be a little bit fiddly, is to gently bend this ribbon at an angel, like so and push it into the bottom. That's great.

Step 4: Reassemble Phone:

Just gently pop it back down, not trying to get any nasty finger marks on the screen. You can see the screens now in. Pop your little top back on, which will just click on by pushing down at the bottom like so. Finish up, get your screw driver again. Get some of the screws that you haven't lost accidentally. Okay with all four screws in, you can snap your facial back on, and then just turn your phone on.
