Looking for your IP address? In this step by step guide Rachael Downie, tech expert, shows you how to find out what it is using the command line interface.
Method
Click the 'Start' menu.
Type 'cmd' in the search bar and press 'Enter'.
A black command box will pop up; type in 'ipconfig' and press 'Enter'.
Look for 'Ethernet adapter local area connection' in the text that comes up; the number on the third line down is your IP address.
