How To Choose A Corset Top

In this video, I'm going to give you some helpful tips on how to choose a corset top. As the name suggests, the corset top has the bones of a corset in it as this particular one demonstrates. Now, two different types of body shapes can carry off a corset top.

This type of corset top would really suit someone who's quite curvy because it's got great support, a nice, thick strap, and good, strong, boned corset form which will give you really good shape to really create that lovely hourglass shape, holding in all lumps and bumps. A corset top works fabulous. If you wanted to wear something underneath it, you could, maybe a blouse, but worn simply on its own, its a lovely, beautiful, dressy top.

Now, if you're more of a petite, angular frame, a corset top can really suit your shape as it can give you more shape, as this example shows. Given all the detailing, the embellishment around the bust area, it's going to give you a more hourglass shape so perfect for giving curves to a more straight, angular shape. And this one, also, it being it's strapless, is great for someone who's a little bit smaller in the bust so you can carry that off really well.

It's a great support structure just to give you more shape and the pattern detail also just adds more interest because a corset can be a very plain item, so if you're wanting to add a bit more interest, look for ones that have got pattern fabric or more embellished ruffling to it or extra detailing. Looking back at the detailing of this top and thinking about going for flattering detailing, the strong vertical stripes in the seams that go right through the corset top are very flattering both on a big bust but also slimming over a tummy so extremely flattering.
