Hi, my name is Sunita Passi and I am from a company called Tri-Dosha. We're specialists in training in ayurvedic therapy and also meditation. And we supply products and treatments to some luxury spas around the world.

There are many ways to meditate and I am here today to talk to you about a few of the different meditation techniques that you could bring into your life in order to feel happier and healthier. When choosing a meditation class, there's a number of things that you want to think about. The first thing is to understand that there are hundreds and hundreds of ways to actually meditate and it's not one size fits all.

The most important aspect of choosing the right meditation class is to make sure you choose a meditation that actually resonates with you. Some of the ways to meditate are through breathing, so actually going to classes that specifically focus on your breath. Dancing is another form of meditation, light flowing music, walking in the park, walking your dog, walking in nature.

Anything related to nature is a meditation. Learning how to meditate using a sound vibration. Basically anything that allows your mind to calm down is a form of meditation.

Another kind of class that you can actually go to that falls into this bracket are classes where by the teacher uses visualizations to really start to connect you with something higher. And also yoga classes are considered meditation style classes as well because there you are able to shake all of the stress out of your body and at the end of the class, you will find yourself in a very, very relaxed position. So the first thing I want to say is think about what resonates with you, think about the type of meditation you want to experience and bring into your life.

Once you've actually done that, then start to think about what type of teacher that resonates with you. Every teacher has a different style, and if you go to a class where you don't resonate with the teacher, you will find that this inhibits your experience with the meditation and you'll actually find that you won't be able to go very deep into it. So do experiment, ask around.

People will often recommend teachers that are good for them, but they will also be able to explain why they think that teacher may be particularly good for you as well. And you will also know what fits you, what fits your liking, what it is you're looking for and the kind of beat that you want to the class. Another thing that might come into choosing the right teacher is also understanding your own body type or your own constitution and actually realizing that for some, a very, very soothing, relaxing meditation class is the way to go.

Where as for others, you might want something that a little bit more of a beat to it. So, once you've chosen the style of meditation you want to learn, you've then chosen the teacher that you want to learn with, you then need to decide how you're going to fit this into your life. Is this something you want to do on a weekly basis? Is this something you want to do twice a year, in which case, you might look at a retreat program.

Or is this something that you want to bring into your life on a daily basis? In which case, you'll also need to learn a technique that you can pull on yourself. So there's a whole bunch of things you need to think about. I've enjoyed telling you about them, and I look forward to telling you about other meditation techniques.
