Hi. I'm Zoe Lem, stylist and owner of My Sugarland, and today I'm going to give you some insiders' tips of how to do fashion. So, now I'm going to show you how to choose a mini dress.

It's really important when choosing any dress but particularly a mini dress that you really think about your body shape. If you're hourglass, you can afford to go little more pencil. You could go little more mixed in, can glide over the hips and really go with those curves.

If you're more pear-shaped or more straight up and down, you really need to go for an A-line shape, so nip here in the waist so it's really flattering and then it pops out. So the same principles if you're wearing a long dress but you need to carry on with a short dress even though you haven't got the length. It's really important to get the right length on your leg.

Though you're going short, you need to nip in at your legs' smallest part. So, the length of the dress is still important. If you're bigger right at the top of your leg, go a little bit longer so as not quite knee-length but it's a bit shorter.

The neckline is really very important. So get a neckline that flatters. If you're bigger busted, don't go too high.

If you've got a smaller bust you can afford to cover up and go a little higher. If your arms are a problem, then again, same principles you need to cover up a little bit on the arms so go for a cap-sleeve or something that just covers over but is still short. This is a really great mini dress.

The balance will be there, so balanced shoulder, balanced hips. So, getting the balance overall is really really important. If the tummy area is an area you want to cover up, then ruching is brilliant for just covering that.

You can still go short, you can still have a great shape, you can still be sexy but it's just covering those areas that you want to cover. Don't forget the pattern again if you're more petite, go for a smaller pattern. If you sort of full of figured, you can go for a slightly bigger pattern.

The balance is even more important on mini dress because there is a smaller surface area and it's going to cover less. You can also go for opaque tights in winter as a way of balancing out if you don't want to get your legs out. So, thick tights a bit like leggings and again a really great way mini dress, lots of different ways to wear it. .
