Hi, I'm Michelle Bassam. I am a Counselling Psychologist and also the Clinical Manager for Harley Therapy. Today, I'm here to talk to you about different aspects of therapy and how therapy can help you as individuals or as couples.
Music therapy. This is not a therapy that is used very often. But sometimes with families and children, it is a recommended way of working.
Sometimes, children respond well to music therapy or movement or dance. If you are looking for a music therapist, this is something you will need to research quite heavily, through the internet or the library or through your GP practice. Even though you feel that music therapy may be right for you, I would recommend that you look at alternative types of therapy to really work out what would be most beneficial.
You are making a very big step by starting therapy in the beginning. So, it would be a great shame if the type of therapy you choose is not beneficial to you and is not actually working. It is important that you actually take some time out to research this type of therapy and other similar therapies.
I hope this has been of some help and good luck in your search for the right type of therapist that will help you along your way. So, thinking about what I just explained to you, please now take time to do some research on the internet, through your doctor, possibly through friends' recommendations, for the right therapist for you. But please stop and look at the different types of therapy before you embark on a therapeutic relationship.
Thank you very much and I hope this is of real help to you. .
