My name is Michelle Bassam. I am a Counselling Psychologist and also the Clinical Manager for Harley Therapy. Today, I am here to talk to you about different aspects of therapy and how therapy can help you as individuals or as couples.

Today, I'm going to talk to you briefly about sex therapy and finding the right sex therapist. Many people come into sex therapy and it's one of the most difficult therapies that people come into because of the nature of the subject. It is important that you find a therapist who is very understanding and you feel very able to discuss this very difficult subject with.

In fact, it should not be a difficult subject. It should be one of the most natural things to talk about with your therapist. She should be able to hold you and make you feel at ease, so that you are able to discuss this fully within your sessions.

She will possibly have experience working with couples or relationship qualifications as well to enable her to have a complete understanding. When you are looking for a sex therapist, sometimes even though it can be difficult to discuss with other people, it may be easier to go on recommendation or through your GP. Your General Practitioner will know of good sex therapists within your area.

Sex is a vital part of a good, healthy relationship so it should not be just left. It should be something that as a couple or as an individual, you do come into therapy to help you through. When you are choosing your sex therapist, make sure that she is able to deal with the issues that you are going to present.

May they be cultural issues, may they be same-sex issues, for example. All these issues are slightly different and it is important that your therapist is used to dealing with a very wide range of sex therapy. That was a short guide on how to find a good sex therapist. .
