How to choose budgie food. Make sure the food that you are feeding your budgie is a complete diet. There should be plenty of fruit, vegetables, seeds, nuts, egg.
These are all essential needs for your bird, so if you are giving it to them, you know that you have a healthy bird and you know a healthy bird means a happy bird. The one that we advise is the feed from Extra Vital. It has twenty six different seeds, fruits, nuts, vegetables, egg.
It has completely everything in there. Obviously, you do not want to feed your bird the same thing day in and day out so make sure you have different fruits and vegetables inside the cage. Stay away from watery acidic fruit and vegetables, this can cause diarrhea, so you want to make sure you have got hard greens like green cabbage, rocket, cauliflower, they love coriander and there are all the different types of green powders as well.
Also, things like carrots are also very good for the beak and also to have different vitamins in there as well. You should feed your bird from once to twice a day depending on the amount you give them. If possible, keep the food bowl, the treat bowl and the fruit and vegetable bowl separately.
It gives your bird a lot more variety with different bowls to choose from. Make sure that you have plenty of fresh water every day up to twice a day if possible and obviously make sure that they have a bird bath in there as well so that they do not use their water bowl as a bath as that will get dirty very quickly. Also with the water, if you can, there are vitamins you can buy in liquid form that can go in your water obviously to help make sure they have got plenty of vitamins in there diet.
