When you choose your burlesque shoes, be sure to keep comfort in mind. Also, make sure they fit well so they don't fly off in the middle of a show.
The best way to choose burlesque shoes is to realize it's really important to be comfortable, so whether you're going for the 1940's, 1950's, present day style, find something you can walk in for some time. If you're going to a gig all dressed up burlesques, obviously, it's better that they go with your outfit. If you're going to be performing, burlesque shoes need to stay on because if you trip in them or they're too loose or too tight, it's not much fun.
I like shoes that are glossy because I tend to take my clothes off quite a lot so I go for patent shoes. I also, if I'm removing clothing on stage, it's always better to have shoes that don't have bows and buckles and bits and bobs. It just makes life a whole lot easier.
However, occasionally, I do like my little bit of bling and because I'm lazy, I bought some rhinestones that stick on by themselves because I can't be bothered to stand there with my bottle of glue and I stuck all these rhinestones on. They look amazing on stage. Every time any come off, I just go and buy some more, fill in the gaps, and they look pretty stunning.
I think, always have something black because it goes with so much and I would say go with something that's maybe silver or gold because silver or gold, a lot of people don't realize, silver or gold shoes go with everything. So, when you're burlesquing and glitzing up, it's really nice to have a shoe that will match whatever outfit you go for. So, that's how to choose burlesque shoes. .
