How To Choose Maternity Trousers

When choosing your maternity trousers, always make sure you go for your normal size. Maternity wear is cut to include your bum. Make sure you sit down in them and check there's no digging in, no gaping in and there's plenty of room in the front to grow.

Check your waistband to make sure you've got maximum comfort. When you choose your waistband, you've got two options: under or an over-the-bum option. The one on the mannequin here is an over-the-bum option.

These are great because they give you a fantastic silhouette to wear a more fitting top and they can be adjusted and rolled down to become an under-the-bum option if you're more comfortable with that. Under-the-bum options are also available in all trousers. And depending on your preference, it depends on the choice you make with those.

There are three main types of maternity trousers, in terms of the fit on the leg. You've got your straight-leg, which is like this one here - which is fantastic, under or over-the-bum, and fantastic for elongating, so they make you look slimmer. You then also got your boot-cut style, like this one here, for example.
