How To Choose Mens Jeans

This video discusses some tips on how to choose the right pair of jeans that would fit different body shapes.

Hello, my name is Anita Feron-Clark http://feronclarkstyle.com/. I work freelance as an image consultant in association with Colour Me Beautiful http://www.colourmebeautiful.co.uk/ and today, we are going to talk about various trousers. Men's jeans can be worn by anyone, whatever your budget, whatever your shape, whatever your lifestyle and prices vary quite considerably.

You could pick up an inexpensive pair of jeans or something quite expensive, so over 150 pounds. But it doesn't necessarily mean the more you pay, the better the fit, the better the fabric. It generally comes down to personal preference or if there's a brand you like and you're loyal to that brand, you'll always go back and buy that pair of jeans although it's more expensive than, say, something that you could get on the high street.

Jeans come in different weights and different washes. So when you talk about a jean, it could be a lightweight or it could be a heavyweight. If it's a lightweight jean, it tends to be less durable than a heavyweight jean so think about its end use.

If it's something you'd want to wear everyday, then think about more of a heavier weight jean. If it's something you'd just want to wear at weekends, then you could get away with a lighter weight jean. Also something to consider with jeans is the level of washing and this is done in the manufacturing process.

So, a denim could have a very, very light wash which keeps it very dark and keeps the color very rich. Or a denim could be heavily washed which takes away some of the color and causes some distressing around the pocket area which is fine if you want this jeans to be worn more casually. There is so much choice out there for styling for men's jeans.

I just want to show you some examples. You could opt for a very lightweight denim with contrast stitching and so much washing that it's almost falling apart. And also you may decide to go for a button fly as opposed to a zip fly and it very much comes down to personal preference.

You may want to go for a darker wash, this is quite a heavyweight pair of jeans with some contrast stitching and this has got a zip fly. If you like branded jeans, you may decide to go with your favorite brand logo on your back pocket and this again is a very lightweight jean but it's got a zip through fly. So, as you can see from just three pairs of jeans, there's so much choice so it very much comes down to personal preference and what you like.

Men's style of jeans tends to fall into four main shapes: bootleg, straight leg, skinny, and relaxed fit and again it very much depends on the end use of your jean which will determine what style you choose. Generally, it's dictated by men's body shapes but it could also just come down to personal preference. If your body shape is round, generally choose a jean style that is straight in the leg and a lighter weight jean.

If you are an inverted triangle, then you can wear a bootleg style or a straight jean. If you are a rectangle shape then most styles of jeans will suit you. So you could wear a straight leg, you could wear a bootleg, you could wear a skinny leg but I would avoid a very loose, deconstructed fit. .
