How To Choose Navy Trousers

A navy trousers is sometimes seen as being a less formal and less harsh than a black trouser.

It's also seen as a color that can be worn as a formal trouser, a work trouser and then goes in as a casual trouser. Denim seems to be versions of navy depending on how washed it is. So just to give you an example, this is a very dark navy trouser, it's almost inky black, and then the color can graduate and become a light navy like this denim here.

So, navy trousers can come in lots of different cuts or styling. If it's a formal trouser, it tends to be flat front, single pleat or double pleat. If it's more of a casual trouser like denim, it tends to be called a five pocket western.

Where you have three pockets on the front, and two pockets on the back, in terms of styling on a navy trouser, think about your body shape. So if you are a rectangle shape, then a plain front or a single pleat is a good style for you and you can wear denim as well. If you're an inverted triangle, maybe look at denim or a navy trouser that is a bit heavier in weight and a work trouser that has a single pleat as opposed to the twin pleat.

If you're more of a rounded shape, for a navy trouser, look for something that's a little looser in fit, light in weight to a twin pleat. If you're going to wear a navy trouser for jeans, then be careful about the denim being too heavy if you're a round shape. People tend to find wearing a navy trouser a lot easier than wearing a black trouser, it's easier to style because people usually relate navy trouser to a dark washing denim.

So with navy, virtually any color looks good. You can wear it with a light color, you can wear it with a dark color, you can wear it with a different shade of navy, any terms of shoes, black shoes, navy shoes, brown shoes, any colour shoes, or pump or trainer looks good with a navy pair of trousers. If you have a navy pair of trousers that has belt loops, then again, think about how you can make it a bit more casual or a bit more formal.

If you want to have more of a casual look, think about a canvas belt and if you want more of a smart work look, then think about a leather belt. In terms of what you wear when your top half, a smart shirt, a nice knit shirt, a pull over or even a zipped through top can add more of a casual look to a navy trouser. .
