How To Choose Perfect Blue Wedding Shoes

Something blue for your wedding day could actually be a pair of blue shoes. But first, let these wedding dress experts advise you on how to choose the blue wedding shoes to go well with the style of your wedding dress and such.

We're going to talk to you about how to choose your perfect wedding shoes. When choosing your shoes for your wedding dress, we highly recommend that you get a sample of fabric from your dressmaker or from the boutique that you're actually getting your dress from. Once you've got that, that will really help you work out what colour shoe you need to get for your dress.

Another thing you need to figure out is how high you want the shoe to go and you need to find a style that actually suits the wedding dress that you've ordered. A lot of our clients actually choose a blue wedding dress, whether it's because they're having a more contemporary London wedding where they have a nice navy, more of an evening dress, but they still want it to be special, true to a sort of teal blue as well. It's never really like a sort of baby blue, is it? That's more kept for the bride's maids.

But when you're looking at your shoes, you need to have your fabric sample because this is going to reflect what sort of tone you have, what sort of colour and what fabric. As with one of the dresses we're designing at the moment, it's based on the fact that she already bought the shoes before the dress and she wants us to match the dress to the shoes which is a tiny bit extravagant but you know, if you find the perfect pair of shoes, ladies, that might be just you thing. You can also wear them under your ivory wedding dress.

We do that quite a lot. We always recommend, if you are getting coloured shoes, maybe to get a couple of pairs to take along to your fitting to check that they actually work with your dress. Because sometimes, having a blue dress is quite intense so you don't want the shoes to take over from the dress.

You just want them to sort of be part of the outfit. So, by checking them next to the dress to see they're just sort of there as opposed to standing out might be really a good idea. The other interesting fact is the blue was originally the colour of wedding dresses before Queen Victoria and that was because it was associated the regal colour, hence the reason you have something blue in your wedding dress.

So actually, it might be quite nice if you have blue shoes because that will be your something blue and something new. And that's how you choose your perfect blue wedding shoes.
