We're going to talk to you about how to choose your perfect wedding shoes. When choosing your shoes for your wedding dress, we highly recommend that you get a sample of fabric from your dressmaker or from the boutique that you're actually getting your dress from. Once you've got that, that will really help you work out what colour shoe you need to get for your dress.

Another thing you need to figure out is how high you want the shoe to go and you need to find a style that actually suits the wedding dress that you've ordered. See if the style of shoe that you're looking for actually suits the dress that you're buying. We had one instance where a client wants to wear a platform.

It was a bit more extreme than that, probably about 3 or 4 centimeters of platform at the front, but she wants to wear it with a fluid wedding dress and she bought those shoes in and we tried them on but it just didn't work because the front of the dress kept sticking to the front of the shoe and when she walks, it just didn't look right at all and actually ruined the whole sort of overall feel of the dress. So, I told her no, she couldn't wear them. So, that's one thing that you really need to consider when choosing your platform shoe.

Whether it actually goes with the style of dress, ask your dressmaker if she approves or not. I think the other thing to consider is, again, they are a massive trend at the moment and you can get some really really high platforms. As Ellie said, if it works for your dress, fine.

But you also need to consider the height of your fiancé on your wedding day when you're wearing your platform shoes. You don't want to be over-towering him at the aisle but at the same time, if you are really short, they are a quite great way of gaining height if you are marrying a six-foot plus. But also, you need to be able to walk in them as well.

There'd be nothing worse than you, wobbling down the aisle, so you know, if you are comfortable wearing really high heels, then fantastic, go for it. If you're not, then I would recommend that the wedding day not be the day that you sort of, you know, do your debut act in a pair of platforms. And if you do get some, you know, try them out, walk around in the house in them and just feel confident wearing them because actually, a pair of platform shoes could be as high as 10 centimeters.

I think these ones are actually 9 because you've got the platform here but some of them are really tall, so you need to feel confident wearing them. You don't want to twist your ankle on your wedding day. Also, you need to inform your dressmaker or your boutique where you're getting your dress from that you are thinking about wearing platform shoes because otherwise, there's nothing worse than the hem being too short.

No. So if at the beginning stage, it's something that's quite important to you when you're ordering your dress, make sure they're aware of it so they might need to give you an extra length. And that's how you choose your perfect platform wedding shoes. .
