Hi, my name is John Webb, been a badminton coach for over fifteen years, and I'm going to show you some tips on how to play badminton. Alright, I'm going to talk about the importance of choosing the correct badminton shoes and wearing badminton shoes when you start off and first come to play badminton. You will be absolutely amazed most people turn up to play badminton in pumped big trainers.

But the first thing you need is, is the correct shoes. Now I, I choose to wear Yonex as I think the are the, I think they are the leading brand, but the main thing to watch out for in shoes which is different to a normal trainer, first thing, you have got is a non-marking. You got a non-marking rubber soul, which is really important, because it supports your foot, does not mark the court and you get much better grip on the court.

So you actually have fewer injuries, that's because badminton is all about twisting and turning, really, it really supports those movements. Next thing is you got a really, really good grip here for the ankle, where it supports the ankle because of the twisting and turning, you dont want to be twisting your ankle so, so it's really good, it's really good for that. So, I'd recommend going to any particular retailer like Sweatband, get going around, having a look at different badminton shoes.

Really, you are looking at hi-tech, a Yonex, a Carlton, but just try and see whatever gets the sort of best feel. A shoe in the range of 30-40 pounds upwards, probably, you are probably doing really well. But the key things are the grip, the support there, and also make sure that they are quite breathable, that would be really good.

So first, that's the most important thing, get the correct shoes when you start with badminton, don't just go for normal trainers. .
