How To Choose The Perfect Wedge Wedding Shoes

We're going to talk to you about how to choose your perfect wedding shoes. When choosing your shoes for your wedding dress, we highly recommend that you get a sample of fabric from your dressmaker or from the boutique that you're actually getting your dress from. Once you've got that, that will really help you work out what colour shoe you need to get for your dress.

Another thing you need to figure out is how high you want the shoe to go and you need to find a style that actually suits the wedding dress that you've ordered. Now, with wedges, you really need to think about the fabric that they're made out of and the style of your dress. If they're all leather, then generally they'd be okay for more fluid fabrics or satin.

But if they're more of a suedette kind of fabric, you can't really wear those with the fluid slinky dress because that will get caught in the front. They'd be okay for the bigger dresses. Most people would want wedges and platforms if they're quite short and their fiancé or soon-to-be husband is really tall.

So, I can understand why people want to wear them and also, they're quite on trend at the moment with the sort of double wedge and the platform shoe. But I think the main thing to consider is the fabric and the style of dress and if you have open toed or close toed, again to reflect the style of your dress because you don't want your toes to get caught on the dress. And if you're not sure, before you go and buy your shoes, go to your dressmaker because they will have all the experience of what shoes work with that dress and they'll know if a certain shoe won't work with that dress.

So, it's a really good idea to have a chat to them about what sort of shoe you're looking for because in our experience, when this client came with these shoes, we actually had to tell her that they don't work with the dress or if you will find to have the dress sort of sticking to the front of the shoe, then that was completely up to you but we wouldn't actually advise that type of shoe with the dress. So, have a chat to your dressmaker about what style of which shoe will work with your dress. The other thing to consider is the length of your dress.

If you're having a bespoke dress, that's not a problem as long as you let your dressmaker know you want to wear wedged platform shoes from the beginning so that they can allow for enough fabric. If you are buying your dress, you need to work out what length that that dress is, whether it's even possible to be able to add that much height. There's nothing worse than a hovering hem, so again, another thing to consider when thinking about having wedges for your wedding shoes.

But they're perfect for a beach wedding because they don't sink into the sand. So, you just need to be careful that they do actually go with the style of dress. And that's how you choose your perfect wedge wedding shoes. .
