How To Clean A Coffee Maker

Over time and after several uses, your coffee maker will develop water stains and coffee marks. Watch this short, barely three-minute VideoJug film, in order to learn how to green clean your coffeemaker with just ordinary household substances and bring back its brand new shine and luster.

I am going to explain how to clean your coffeemaker. There are two types, really. One is the cafetiere which we have here, and the other one is the traditional coffeemaker with the glass jug underneath.

So first of all, what we are going to do is clean the outside. As you can see, it is quite mucky, so what we are going to do is we take a damp sponge, squirt on some liquid soda, and this time, we are going to add just a little cupful of vinegar onto that; here we go and we are going to gently rub the outside of the cafetiere. As you can see, that is removing all the water stains and the coffee marks.

And then just wipe off the excess with the other side of your sponge. And then buff it up to a lovely shine and there we go, gleaming! The way we clean the inside, here is what we do. We pour some liquid soda on the inside with two cups of vinegar, and what we will do is fill that up with hot water and leave that to soak for an hour or two.

The other type of coffeemaker machine is your traditional coffeemaker which has the glass jug underneath, and sometimes that gets banged up with sludge and it gets a little bit compacted at the top. A great way to clean it is to put in a cup of distilled vinegar. No water, just the vinegar.

Run that through your cycle as you would normally if you were making coffee, and then rinse through two or three time with clean water, and that will de-sludge your coffeemaker. Another area that you find that gets lots of tea and coffee stains is your good old mug, and a great way to clean those is to squirt in some liquid soda, just like what we would do with a coffee pot, add some hot water, leave that to soak for about an hour. Another way is, if you have a dishwasher, you don't need liquid soda, just squirt in some liquid soap in the bottom, put it in the dishwasher as normal, and that will add to the effectiveness of your dishwasher detergent.

So, we left our cafetiere to soak for a couple of hours, and here we have it. Here, up now, rinsed out and buffed out the soft top, and as you can see, it is lovely and clean. And that is how to clean two types of coffeemaker. .
