Step 1: You will need

Step 2: Mix a cleaning solution

Fill a bowl or tray with hot water. Sprinkle over 2 heaped teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda. This is a great cleaning agent, it's abrasive enough to lift stains with out scratching surfaces and it easily cuts through grease.

Step 3: Get wiping

Start with the greasy upper side. Dip a soft cloth in the cleaning solution and rub over the entire upper part. Wipe away with paper towels. Now get to work on the underside. Wash over in the bicarbonate solution, then wipe off with a paper towel.

Step 4: Add the shine

To get a great finish, spray on a little glass cleaner. Buff off with a soft cloth making sure no smudges are left

Step 5: Finishing touch

Add a couple of drops of baby oil to a soft cloth and rub. Any grubby finger prints will vanish making your oven hood look immaculate.

    Glass part can be cleaned just by using the glass cleaner and scrunched up newspaper. Gravy oil is great for stainless steel though I have to agree
