How To Clean An Eye Liner Brush

Hi, I'm Faye from simplyfaye dot co dot uk. I've been a makeup artist for 20 years and I'm going to give you some tips on how to apply makeup. In this video, I'm going to talk to you about how to clean eyeliner brushes.

It's very important to clean eyeliner brushes in between each application as eyeliner brushes can hold lots and lots of germs and we don't want to cross-infect your eyes. The way that I clean my brushes is I use, believe it or not, a baby wipe to clean most of the product off. Baby wipes are actually my best friend and that takes most of the dirt and the colour off and then we need to sterilize the brush.

There are many products on the market that you can use to sterilize brushes. Various different brands do- the most of the top cosmetic brands do carry cleaners now. I use a professional one which is with natural ingredients and natural antiseptics which is called Beauty So Clean and this works with a spray action and what I would do is lay the brush down and spray.

Don't be frightened to spray too much because the more stuff you get on, the better, and this one's quite a good one because it's alcohol-based so it makes the brush dry really quickly as well as cleaning and taking away any germs, and then I'm just going to wipe that dry with a piece of tissue or a piece of bed roll until all the colours come out. You can also buy disposable eyeliner brushes which can be used instead of a professional eyeliner brush and they're quite a good quality as well. And you just wipe that until that's completely clean and there you have a clean brush which is dry.
