How To Clean Diamond Earrings
This video demonstrates how to clean diamond earrings.
Hi, I'm Cherie Birks from Cool Diamonds in London, Hatton Garden, and I'm a goldsmith here and I've been a goldsmith for nearly 10 years and I trained for that in Australia. But apparently, we sell diamonds mounted in platinum, 18-karat white gold and 18-karat yellow gold. I'm here to demonstrate polishing and resizing of rings and diamond jewellery.
I'm here to demonstrate how to clean diamond earrings. Start with the bath of hot water, mild dish detergent and some ammonia, and you can soak your earrings in there for a little while depending on how dirty they are. Then, once you've soaked them, get an old toothbrush and just brush in behind the settings, which is where the build-up of grease and general dirt can be and then just rinse that out again and then rinse it in warm water to get the detergent off.
And then dry it out with a soft cotton cloth and then you can go over that with a polishing cloth just to rinse all the shine off the metal as well. And that is cleaning diamond earrings. .
