This is how to clean model paintbrushes. They're basically gauged one upwards: two being bigger, three being bigger than that. And then downwards, so that zero is fine, then you've got a two zero and a three zero, each one getting finer, so you've got a five zero there.

That's an extremely fine paintbrush there. Then you've got a three zero paintbrush. What you've got to make sure when you're cleaning your brushes is have a water for your metallics and a water for your non-metallics, because if they mix up together, everything will end up being sparkly, and that's a bit of an issue.

So, I've got a brush here with a little bit of paint on the end. It's a very simple, easy thing to do, but what you need to remember is don't get the water above the metal or the water will go into the brush, and you'll end up basically with a brush that looks like that, because the paint's all stripped off and it's wrecked. Just dip it into the water there, making sure that the water doesn't go above the metal bit.

Don't touch the sides because that'll ruin the brush, especially a fine detail brush. Plenty of water onto the brush, and then you just want to wipe the brush off. Just keep doing that until all of the paint's off.

This is how not to do it. If you touch the sides of the jar with the brush like that, you're going to ruin the brush. You'll spread the bristles out, and it will be ruined.

The only use really for a ruined brush like that is for dry-brushing, or coloring broad areas, so just make sure. The most important thing is that the brush goes into the water like that, and it's not touching the sides, and the water isn't going above the metal part of the brush, there. And that's how to clean a model paint brush. .
