How To Color Your Hair For Less
Hair color doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg. Try these all natural products at home and save yourself some money.
Step 1: Lemon Lift
Naturally lightening the hair with lemon juice works best on dishwater blonde hair, which are those who have varying shades of blonde. The acid in lemon juice can be hard on the skin and hair so dilute a tablespoon of lemon juice with a gallon of warm water until the desired color is achieved. It may take time to get to your desired shade of blonde but it isn't nearly as damaging as full strength lemon juice or other hair lightening methods.
Step 2: Dark Roast
Coffee and tea contain natural dye and can effectively darken naturally light hair. Just rinse hair with a strong black coffee or black tea and repeat the process until the desired color is achieved. Be careful not to dye clothing or surrounding surfaces.
Step 3: Sage Advice
Sage can naturally cover those stubborn gray hairs. People with naturally dark hair will have the best results. Boil two cups of water and add 1/2 cup of dried sage. Steep for eight hours then apply it to dry hair. Let your hair dry with the sage in it, then rinse. Repeat this process until you achieve desired results. Maintain the roots by repeating once a month.
