How To Configure Outlook 2003 and 2007: Configuring email on outlook 2003 and 2007 is very difficult task for many people. In this videos Danny tells us how to set up you email account in Outlook 2003 and 2007.
Hello, I'm Danny from PC Paramedics and today I will be showing you how to configure your email in outlook 2003 and 2007. Outlook 2003 and 2007 are exactly the same to set up an email account. So today I am going to open up outlook 2007 and set up my email account.
I have now opened up outlook 2007 and I have come to the start up wizard to setup your email account. I am going to proceed, click start NEXT to that so you can confirm outlook to connect instant email which what I am going to do, yes and NEXT to that one as well. Ok your name, what I'm going to do is to name yourself so today I am going to use my test account.
So for all testing purposes my name is test. My email address, my email address would have be provided to myself by my Internet service Provider. My email account today is test@web-hq.
com. OK my password is provided by internet service provider along side my email account so i am going to proceed with putting my password in. Which will be asked fortwice.
OK I am going to manually configure service settings for additional service types now to get your service settings you need to contact you internet service provider. Now if your internet service provider is BT you need to call BT and if you have broadband with AOL or anybody else other than BT you need to call both parties in order to get all of these details. OK I want to do internet email today, so I am going to proceed to click next to this one.
OK once again my name is already filled in, email address is what we filled in earlier. The account type unless otherwise stated by your ISP will always be POP3, your incoming and outgoing mail servers will be given to you by your ISP again. So today my incoming mail server is mail.
web-hq.com and my outgoing mail server has been provided by my Broadband ISP which is SMTP.eclipse.
co.UK . OK now the username and password again has been provided by my ISP which is test@web-hq.
com and password alike. OK today I am going to show you more settings to do with email. Now certainly many account providers by certain Broadband companies will ask you to fill in different options for your email settings.
They may ask you to fill in the outgoing server in case it requires authentication, my one doesn't need to do that today they might also ask you to fill in different server port numbers again that will be given to you separately. Today my one are standards so I am not going to change the normal settings, server timeouts now the server timeout will be set between short and long. If they are set to 1 minute that means you have 1 minute time for each message to come in.
If you know you get a lots of large emails such large attachments of photographs you might wish to increase this to three four or any thing up to ten within outlook. OK also delivery if your going to use your email on outlook on your computer and a blackberry Mobile phone or any other computer you may wish to leave a copy of messages on a server so you can get these delivered to each individual device. OK so today I am going to leave my one on server and select remove from server after 30 days, reason why i am asking them remove after 30 days because I do not want server to fill up so people cannot send me anymore messages.
Once that's done proceed to click OK. OK we are nearly set up all we have to so now is click NEXT and than FINISH. This will create a outlook data file for you and it should take very short amount to run.
Once that all that is in we are ready to use our email.
