White sausages are prepared, by one them ten minutes in approx.. 75 °C to hot, easily salted water (possible with a lemon disk) warms up. One can bring also water to cooking, take the pot of the fire and give the white sausages into the cooling down water. In cooking water they burst and lose at taste.

So a Schmarr'n is right! I lived in Oberbayern for 6 years (1956-62), and the only way I ever saw a Bavarian eat Weisswurst was with a fork and knife. I eat 'em the same way today when I order some from Stiglmeier. Charlie from B.A.

I've eaten weisswurst since I was a child growing up a Bavarian mother, and a) after boiling the skin was browned in a hot pan with butter, and b) we always used a fork and knife - and ate the browned skin.
