Today, I am going to show you how to cook beetroots. Beetroots are fantastic, and you really must include quite of them into your diet. There is nothing better than actually popping a nice beetroot into your juicer and having a fresh beetroot juice.
However, today, we are simply going to boiling these. Now, a good tip is about the leaves - just leave about an inch on and don't cut them right back to the beetroot. Give them a little wash, of course, and otherwise leave them as well.
I don't like to cut the beetroot as I feel they are left more of goodness. What I am going to do with these is put them straight into a boiling cooker and then cook them for half an hour and put water in so that the beetroots are covered. So, check maybe after 15 or 20 minutes after your beetroots have been boiling and then stab them again and make sure the knife comes out quite easily.
These are absolutely perfect. Let them cool down with cold water and they are much easier to peel. If you leave them to cool down too long, then it is much more difficult to peel off.
So, I like to clean this under a running tap and you will find the skins will come off quite easily and if you do find you have any beetroot stains on your hands, a little bit of lemon juice is a good thing to get the stains out or simply let it off. There we go, really tasty kujas and freshly cooked beetroot, and I feel it has become very nicely and bite-ready cooked beetroot, and this tastes much, much better. A lovely way to enjoy your beetroot is to simply slice them up and grizzle over some olive oil and some lemon juice on top with some cumin mixed in and then add a good handful of chilly and coriander; it's a fantastic salad and that is how you can cook the beetroot. .
