How To Cook Brown Rice In A Rice Cooker

Kumud Ghandi presents to you this wonderfully easy guide to steam-cooking brown rice by just adding water and a pinch of salt, with an absolutely amazing result and finish!

Ingredients

  • 200 g brown rice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 450 ml hot water

Step 1: Prepare The Rice

Put the rice in a bowl and add tap water. Swirl the rice around, then drain the water. Repeat until the water is clear.

Step 2: Add The Rice To The Rice Cooker

Add the rice and a pinch of salt to the rice cooker. Add the hot water and cook for about 35 - 40 minutes.

Step 3: Serve The Rice

Place the rice into ramekins, then turn them out onto the plate. this will give your rice some height.
