How To Cook Edamame

Japanese dishes - they taste quite different. But only if they are prepared properly. Learn how to cook edamame, or baby soya beans, from Atsuko.

I'm going to introduce how to cook the edamame. Edamame is actually baby soya beans, and it comes best, in UK, you can find frozen edamame in Japanese grocery shop or supermarket. So, just open a package, and edamame is in shell, it's nicer, to have more flavour, otherwise if you find edamame, de-shelled edamame, it doesn't really have flavour.

So, it has to be edamame in a shell, so bring the water to boil, and just put edamame as you need, then wait until it starts boiling again. And only a few minutes, so you're not going to overcook. So, when edamame floats on the top of the water, and then that's it, take the edamame out of the water, then, it's ready to serve.

And I'm going to serve edamame and sprinkle some sea salt on the top. So, that's how to cook edamame.
