How To Cook Japanese Rice

Ingredients
- 100 g short grain rice
- 200 ml water
- 1 tsp salt
Step 1: Wash The Rice
Add 100g short grain rice to a bowl. Add warm water to the bowl. Swirl your fingers over the rice to loosen the starch. Drain away the water and repeat 3 or 4 times to remove the starch.
Step 2: Boil The Rice
Drain your rice and add to a pan. Pour in 200ml water and place onto the hob. Turn on the heat and add 1 tsp of salt. Add the lid, bring to the boil, then turn the heat down to allow the rice to simmer.
Step 3: Drain And Serve
After around 10 minutes, remove the lid and check the rice. If it is soft and the appropriate texture, drain, place on a plate. Garnish with coriander and serve.
