How To Cook Leeks

Leeks are a versatile and healthy vegetable, full of vitamin A, B and C. Leeks are delicious when eaten raw but perhaps at their best when pan fried simply with some olive oil, salt and pepper. Chef Karin Ridgers shows you how in this video.

Ingredients

  • olive oil
  • leeks
  • pepper
  • Himalayan pink rock salt

Step 1: Prepare the Leeks

Give your leeks a rinse and grab a sharp knife. Chop off the stalks and get rid of any dark leaves at the end. Add some oil to a pan and heat over medium heat.

Step 2: Pan-Fry the Leeks

Add a little water to the pan, then add the leeks. Add a pinch of Himalayan pink rock salt and leave the leeks to pan dry for about 5 minutes. Remove from the pan, season with a little pepper and a dash more olive olive and salt. Serve in a salad or just enjoy your leeks on their own.
