Today, I'm going to show you how to prepare and cook Quinoa. So, what you need to do first of all is have some boiling water. So make sure you have boiled the water.
What you need is a sufficient amount, so you just cover the Quinoa. So you are looking at about 100-150 ml's depending on how much Quinoa you are actually going to cook and how many people you are preparing it for. What I'm going to do now is I'm going to turn that on.
You need a high heat because you want the water to boil. Then you pour the water in. What I am now going to do is add the stock.
Now, I've been using the bouillon powder which is a reduced salt version, but you can get these in a number of versions. You can also get them yeast free as well if you are sensitive to yeast. You can also use other stock.
You can use stock cubes if you like. So all you need for this amount of Quinoa, for about one to two people, is roughly about one teaspoon and then you just pop that in. Then what you do is just cover that.
Then what you want to do make sure you give it a stir and then leave that to dissolve. Keep that boiling for a couple minutes. Once that is dissolved, what you do is add the Quinoa.
So once your water is boiling and the stock has dissolved into the water, what you need to then do is add your Quinoa. So just add in the Quinoa and then what you need to do now is give that a stir. Bring that to a boil and then leave it to simmer for about 15-20 minutes.
Now, our Quinoa is cooked. You know that the Quinoa has been cooked because it has absorbed all the water as you can see and it has doubled in size. So all you need to do now once that has happened is serve it up.
And that is how to cook Quinoa. .
