Hello. I've got some red potatoes here and I'm going to show you how to cook them. In fact, the best way of cooking a red potato is to roast them.

Now, I peeled and coated them already, and the first start is to put a bit in pan. Cover them with water. Make sure that they are completely covered and then stick them on a very high temperature on the hob.

The question people always ask me is, “Why cold water?” and there is no real reason for that in the time it takes the cold water to come up to the boil is the only enough time for the potatoes to must be done. You need to cook them for a bit longer. What I'm going to do here is just drain them with the water.

Put them back in the pan and add a little bit of seasoning. So, just some black pepper here, I'm not doing it enormous, just a demonstration, little bit of salt. The cooking time is essential because if the potatoes are cooked too much, when you shake them up just to rough the edge, which is what's going to make them crispy, they are going to disintegrate or implode and turn into mashed potato.

And if you haven't cooked them enough, then they will get blasted up which isn't the whole point of what we are trying to do here anyway. So my theory with the cold water is beginning up to boil in a couple of minutes and I'm going to see how well. I'm just giving them a little shake to begin with.

And actually, we go inner. That's the perfect texture for roasting. Now, before I roast them, I'm going to do one other thing.

I've got some duck fat here. You could use some goose fat. And if you are vegetarian, you can use vegetable fat.

I'm just going to put this in the oven. And let's put them, the fats, within here for about ten minutes. But I've now got some very hot fat here.

Now, you can actually cook these on the hob. Cook them on the hob like that. I'm going to actually just pick my tongs.

It's in the other draw. We take that off now because we don't want the fat to ignite. In depth, we want the potatoes to start sizzling.

So what we are doing is we are frying them before roasting them, just covering them in a duck fat. So I'm just going to carry out what I'm doing now. And as you can see, they are already developing a nice pretty color.

And now, what I'm going to do is seat this in the oven. Well, there are potatoes being out of the oven now. So I'll just get them out.

Here we go. Cooking time is varied and one of the big variants is an oven. I mean, this is an unjust show wherein it is fan assisted.

So, it is obviously going to take a very less cooking time. We got a lovely golden color on those and that is how to cook and how to roast, if you like, red potatoes. |This VideoJug film features the easiest way of cooking tasty red potatoes.
