Grilling any kind of fish can be a tricky task. But with the help of this video from VideoJug, you can learn to grill salmon like a professional!
I'm going to show you today how to prepare salmon ready for the grill. Very important to keep the salmon as moist as possible, so I've a little formula I've put together. I have some olive oil and I'm going to do 3 parts olive oil.
It doesn't have to be olive oil, it can sunflower, it can be grape seed, it's entirely up to you. Add a bit of vinegar in there as well. So it's a 3-1.
So, in goes my salmon. So I'm adding moisture, texture and flavour to my salmon before it even hits the grill. Nice bit of salt and pepper.
This is a base that I use when I'm grilling my fish. So we're looking to cook our fish on each side for about 4 minutes but it's nice to still keep your eye on it every 2 minutes and just turn it over. And any of the juices that sort of fall off the fish, brush it back on, adding more flavour and more moisture to your fish.
I'm going to put my salmon in the grill and I'll nurture that, I'll keep an eye on it, like I said, every 2 minutes, I'll turn it over but you want to be cooking it at least 4 minutes on each side so it cooks all the way through and you've got a nice little golden crust on top. So, coming back to our grilled salmon, it smells absolutely fantastic. It still needs a bit more colour.
I'll turn it over. Beautiful! It smells absolutely fantastic. Depending how hot your grill is, I mean, I'm not looking to colour it too much but I'm looking to sort of get that intense heat in there and cook it quite quickly so I'm going to put that back in there.
So, I come back to my salmon. It smells absolutely fantastic. Beautiful.
It's got a nice little bottom on there from the grill as well. I'm happy with that. And it feels absolutely perfect to touch.
I've got the moisture there and I can smell the flavours coming through there now. So, I'm really happy with that. Beautiful.
Just cooked. Look at all that juice coming out of there as well. Just try a bit of it.
It smells absolutely fantastic. Just try a bit. What more can I say? And that's how I grill my salmon. .
