We're going to show you how to cook shrimp or prawns, whichever you prefer, same sort of thing. I'm going to show you two ways, actually, and yes, I have them in home. This is a bit of giveaway.

Now, I've gone for enormous prawns because I just thought it would be more fun to show you how to cook these but obviously, you can cook much smaller ones. I think that, really, the two best ways are in boiling water. So, I'm going to put that in there.

It's probably going to take about, because that is quite last, probably two to three minute. The other way is I butterflied this one earlier on, and if you are interested in knowing how to butterfly a shrimp, then you should see the video demonstration on how to butterfly prawn and what I've done here is got a griddle pan. I hadn't put anything on it.

It's been on there for about ten minutes on the heat, no oil, and I'm going to put the prawn straight on top like that. I'm just going to stand there ready with a pair of tongs because you definitely need it. The reason that I prefer boiling is you keep all the juices in.

Whereas this way, you do tend to dry the mouth quite quickly. What I'm going to do is just give that a quick turnover and I'll do about fifteen to twenty seconds on each side on the lattice, though. So, just do that, like that and then finally do the last bit for about, I don't know, I mean, you need to finish that off, in about fifteen to twenty seconds, I would serve that with a bit of olive oil, some chilli and crusty bread and that would be it.

Right, that one's been on for about a couple of minutes. Two minutes or so, and you know when it'd done because it's nice and pink, and what I'll do is let that cool down, and I'll show you how to peel it. Right, so, I'm just going to take the outer shell like that.

Now, never throw the shells away because they can always be used just to make a delicious sauce and you know, for me, these sorts of things are very expensive. So, you definitely want to use as much as you can. And what I'm going to do now is just slice this open the top.

Take out the sack and that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you cook shrimp. .
