How To Create Personalized Napkins

Hi, my name is Luigi, & I am the maestro on the art of napkin folding. What we're doing today is a demonstration on the napkin which comes from my book, "Luigi's Language of Napkin Folding". What we're doing now, a samurai, is part of the Japanese theme.

It's very good sometimes to match the napkin to the occasion. This particular one we're doing is a lady's jacket, which will be very suitable for somebody's birthday, and also a wedding celebration. What we do is take a napkin and fold it in half, in such a way that we aren't getting right to the edge.

We leave a little bit, about a finger width, I would say- one centimeter. Having done this, we turn the napkin over and take the right hand side and we get to this point up here. It is important that you're very flexible right here, because it's got to be right to the edge, like that.

Now, do that on the other side as well. What we need to do now is to take this section and fold it up here, this is going to be the collar of the jacket. It's difficult to hold, so you have to have a knife to hold it in place.

You have to make certain that this section in here is actually slightly inside the border. As you can see, it doesn't matter with that side, and again with that one. Now, we turn it over and allow about five fingers in here before we can make a jacket.

For example, I start from here, I take my right hand side and move it toward there. Then I change hands, take on the left side, and turn there. Now, I'm going to turn it over again.

Put your hand in the center here, so it doesn't fall apart, and turn it over. Now, this point in here really should have been in here, as you can see. It doesn't always work that way, so we take the section in here, and fold it this way so it doesn't matter if this sticks out this way.

We do the section on this side, and as you can see, this is coming out like this. Then we turn it over. You can see the way it comes out, what we need to do in this case is bring it into line like this, on both sides, by moving it up.

Now what we're going to do, is actually put a little shirt or blouse inside, we use a doily. So open up and we put a doily right here. There you are.

Now we close it again. This fold also requires two Fereiro Rochers (Chocolates). We put one in here, and one in there.

You can see now, if it is too large for the plate, you can also close this at the sides. There. Now this is ready for a birthday party for a lady, and if she asks what the chocolate's for, you can say, "That's your booby!".
